Get Your Kids Active |
| The important thing is to encourage your child to do fun activities. This way, they can get some great excercise while doing what they love. That's why sports are so wonderful. Kids can stay fit and healthy while having a great time and making close friendships. There's nothing like being on a team to create a special comaraderie. |
The Benefits Of Team Sports For Children |
| While it's been long known that children can benefit physically from participating in team sports, few realize the psychological benefits associated with enrolling their child in team sports that they enjoy. The importance of physical activity such as team sports is at an all-time high due to the fact that many of our children are now overweight. Studies show that currently, only one out of four adolescent children participated regularly in any type of organized physical activity. This statistic is frightening to hear considering that the number of obese adolescents in America has nearly tripled in the past 20 years. In 1980, 5% of all adolescents were overweight. A study conducted in 1999 showed that a shocking 14% of all adolescents now have a weight problem. |
Fitness For Kids |
| These days, more and more parents are becoming concerned about the fitness of their kids. This is not surprising given the problems of childhood obesity and the increasing weight and lack of fitness that we are seeing in children. Child obesity and diabetes levels are rising dramatically. There is also the issue that many parents feel, which is that schools are paying less attention and devoting less time to physical education than they used to and that children's activity levels are reduced as a result. All of this comes at a time when there is more television and video game distractions than ever that are tearing children away from the more physical activities that they would have once engaged in.

3 reasons your kids should play sport? |
| Kids play sport because they want to have fun and enjoy themselves. But that’s not the only reason.
The confidence trick.
Playing sport will give your child bags of confidence. They’ll also get a real sense of achievement. For a lot of kids sport is their chance to shine, but others can get demoralized. So remember to make sure the sport your child plays is the one they’re best suited to. |
